Desperate for Change

Have you ever been desperate for change?  Maybe something as simple as a change in hair color or nail color.  Maybe something bigger like a new couch or new carpet.  Maybe even bigger like a new car.  What about a new job?  What if you simply want a new dream?

This past week I met a lot of people desperate for change.  They were excited, nervous, and eager for something new and different.  They had been hanging out in neutral for too long and they were on that very fine line between throwing in the towel and all revved up itching for someone to turn their engine on.

I have seen a lot of change the last few weeks.  I am wondering what is the magical trigger that ignites and motivates one to change?  There has to be something that we can manage, tap into, or inspire with??  What is it??  What gets someone from stuck to full steam ahead?

Is it fear?  Are we simply sometimes desperate for...yet afraid of change?  I wonder...

The change in my life is not ending...it is all revved up and full steam ahead.  In fact, I am going to be managing a lot of change in multiple areas of my life over the coming weeks and months so this Pollyanna is on an exploration of sorts to determine what motivates people to change, and how can I tap into that motivation.  I am not sure what I will discover, but I am confident it will be a dandy (as Doretha would say).

Change is inevitable.  There is a wonderful book called "Who Moved My Cheese by Dr. Spencer Johnson.  I believe it should be required reading...for everyone.  Ultimately it asks the question, "What would you do if you weren't afraid?"

My first question to you (and me)..."What would YOU do if you weren't afraid?"
